Behind the bottle
Surveyor Thomson 2021 Rosé
Vintage: 2021 was a great vintage in Central Otago and we picked the all the pinot noir for the Rosé on the 31st of March. The wine is made with 100% pinot noir, clone UCD/6.
Winemaking Notes: The grapes were destemmed and left on the skins for 4 days for colour and aromatics. 50% of the juice went through 2+ year (neutral) oak French barrel fermentation, followed by élevage of 3 months on lees, with malolactic fermentation. The wine was not fined and underwent only a sterile filtration for clarification and stability.
Tasting Notes: Wild raspberry, watermelon and spicy characters on the nose lead to a rich textured mouthfeel showing elegance, freshness and poise.
