Central Otago
Surveyor Thomson 2024, Pinot Rosé
Named in tribute to explorer John Turnbull Thomson, this elegant Central Otago Rosé is crafted from hand-picked Pinot Noir from the North Block. Wild fermentation followed a 4-day cold soak, with 40% aged in French oak and 60% in stainless steel for four months. The result is a fresh, refined, and expressive wine that captures the character of its terroir.
First notes of maraschino cherry, redcurrant, spice, and floral aromatics lead into a
warm, rich, velvety texture—showing exuberance, warmth, and softness.
“Deep–tinted Rosé with floral aromas and strawberry and violet flavours. An intense wine with a crisp, bone-dry, lingering finish. Great food wine – try it with hot smoked salmon or a charcuterie platter.”
92 points, James Suckling
"Fabulously ripe and fragrant, the bouquet shows raspberry, cherry, nectarine, lemon peel, and crunchy apple characters, followed by a beautifully weighted palate offering terrific fruit purity and persistency. Juicy and lively, offering wonderful drinking." Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, 94 points.
