Our Venue
The Domaine Thomson Cellar Door entertaining venue was completed in the Summer of 2020 and provides a luxurious and private atmosphere to meet – for a conference, meetings, weddings or family celebration and special occasions. Designed by architects Noel Lane and Tom Rowe, our Cellar Door sits on a natural platform above the vines with panoramic views across the vineyard to Lake Dunstan. Surrounded by mountain ranges, the image forms a classic Central Otago landscape.
The beautiful vistas over our vineyard and beyond to Lake Dunstan, combined with tasteful French-inspired décor, make our stunning Cellar Door facilities, the perfect location for you to host your bespoke wedding, dinner, event or conference. Our gorgeous venue is perfect for seated dining, celebratory canapes, weddings or business meetings and presentations – a unique space that elevates any gathering. Modern features and comforts combine with a rustic, personal and memorable feel that ensures you will have people talking long after the event is over.

Tasting Room
For any event inside the Tasting Room, the maximum seated capacity is 45 people, or if you are only wanting drinks and snacks, 55 people. Weather permitting we use our outside courtyard area to provide an indoor, outloor flow.

Weddings
Our beautifully landscaped vineyard and tastefully decorated cellar door is a perfect venue for your wedding. We specalise in smaller more intimate ceremonys and after functions, where we can incorporate our indoor/outdoor flow. We also invite you to have your photographs taken out in the vineyard with your choice of stunning backgrounds, including the Pisa Mountain Range or Lake Dunstan and the Dunstan Range - you will be spoilt for choice. Or if you have already made other venue plans, why not try our bespoke wine package, especially tailored for your wedding, whether it be at a private residence, a BYO venue, in the great outdoors or simply in your own home. We have both Domaine Thomson wines from Burgundy, France available or wines from our Central Otago vineyard. Both Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs (including a Burgundy Methode Traditionelle – Crémant de Bourgogne ) are on offer. We invite you to our cellar door for a tasting of our premium wines.

Venue Hire
The Domaine Thomson Cellar Door is available as a venue hire. We have two main rooms 'Gallery" and 'Library' which can be used individually or as a complete venue. Recently the cellar door has been hired for use for birthday parties, baby showers, yoga retreat, workshops, meetings and as an entertainment venue. Contact us for venue hire details.
