What a beautiful, sunny Central Otago day we had for our Christmas Fair! Fortunately, there was not much wind. It has been three years since we started the first fair and each year, it has been really good fun.
Lots of people came up our winding drive to the fair and enjoyed the sunny and calm weather. It was great to see people browsing through the Christmas offerings from the stall holders, and having lunch or relaxing with a glass of wine in the courtyard and inside the Cellar Door too.
We had a diverse selection of stalls this year which I hope pleased all our fair goers.
Sarah of Cardrona Junction brought her beautiful Christmas decorations which we all admired and enjoyed.
We had cool and funky jewellery, as well as clothes from Anne of Ad Lib.
Also some intellectual diversion from The Next Chapter, and some lovely Christmas books, all carefully curated by Jenny.
Food is of course, very important for Christmas. We were very pleased to have not one but two food trucks, the delicious Zapado NZ serving Argentinian grilled meats, sausages and empanadas, as well as the perennial favourite, Mr Whippy, much loved by adults and kids.
Nibbles and dessert were not forgotten! So we had The Kitchen Garden’s delightful artisanal creations, including Christmas cakes and her special quince and Pinot Noir paste, made from our own grapes!
Also some stunningly beautiful cakes and mince pies from Shebakes which tasted as good as they looked.
We hope everyone who came to the Cellar Door had as great a time as we did hosting the Christmas Fair and we hope to see you all again next year!
